Build Your Network Before You Need It

by Casey Eberhart

Today, I wanted to share a thought that has been on my mind lately: the power of building your network before you need it.

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it's easy to overlook the importance of cultivating genuine relationships. But here's the truth—these connections are more than just business assets. They become vital parts of your personal and professional life.

You never know when those relationships you've nurtured will step up to support you, not just in your business endeavors but in your personal life as well. A well-built network can provide unexpected support and outreach when you need it the most. Whether it's a business challenge or a personal crisis, the strength of your network can make all the difference.

Networking isn't just about exchanging business cards or LinkedIn connections; it's about investing in people, creating genuine relationships that can become a cornerstone in both your business and everyday life. And the best part? The rewards often come when you least expect them, offering you help, advice, or opportunities exactly when you need them. Here are some ways to build and nurture your network:

  • Attend industry events and conferences**: These are great places to meet like-minded individuals who share your interests and goals.
  • Join professional organizations or groups**: Becoming an active member can lead to valuable connections.
  • Be consistent with follow-ups**: A simple message or email can go a long way in keeping your relationships warm.
  • Offer help and value first**: People remember those who help without expecting anything in return.
  • Leverage social media**: Engage with your connections' content and share valuable insights to stay on their radar.

So, I encourage you to take a moment today to reach out to someone in your network. Nurture those connections, because you never know when they’ll become invaluable.

Due to a family medical emergency, we had to postpone our Networking Riches Event. Everyone that was part of it from my team to people who had registered were so supportive and stayed connected to the event and I am so thankful for that.
