Growing Your Business with Smart Networking Moves

by Casey Eberhart

When Maya, a real estate agent, first started out, she thought networking was all about collecting business cards. But her business coach gave her a new perspective: every handshake was raw material for her marketing. The real goal was to extract value from every event and share it with her audience.

From Attendee to Content Creator
After a local seminar, Maya had an "aha!" moment. Instead of just filing away her notes, she recorded a one-minute video summarizing the key takeaways and posted it online. A follower's comment, "This is so helpful!" sparked a new strategy. She began to actively listen for "golden nuggets"—insights and key trends—and repurposed them into different content formats for her social media and email newsletter. By featuring other professionals she met, she also positioned herself as a central figure in a reliable network.

Her AI Secret Weapon
To keep up with all the content creation, Maya integrated an AI tool into her process. The tool would transcribe conversations, allowing her to be more present in the moment. It could then instantly summarize the audio and identify key phrases, which saved her hours of work and helped her quickly create polished content. The AI handled the heavy lifting, so she could focus on building relationships.

The Power of Sharing
Today, Maya's social media and email list are a vibrant reflection of her active presence in the real estate community. Her audience sees her as an informed expert, and many new clients reach out specifically because they've seen her content and already feel a sense of trust. Maya's story proves that the value of networking isn't just in the cards you collect; it's in the engaging stories and insights you share afterward.
